Macross Frontier itself have anime version, and two movies. The story is really touching, I really recommended to watch it because the love story is really romantic yet sad, and the composition of love story, mecha battle, and the song is really balanced. I cry a lot when I watching the movie. The song in this anime is really "anime-ish", I love the lyric because there is a romantic one, sad one, playful one, and a lot more.
This DVD is the footage of the concert held on December 22, 2010 at Nippon Budokan, with title of "Merry Christmas without you". The two singer is May'n (for Sheryl Nome songs) and Megumi Nakajima (for Ranka Lee songs), and featuring the seiyuu like Yuichi Nakamura, Aya Endo, and Megumi Toyoguchi, and the composer of all the music, Yoko Kanno. I hope the latest concert event after the second movie released with be a DVD too!

And so, let's begin the review!
2) Merry Christmas Without You (May'n and Megumi Nakajima) --- the song which be the title of this concert. This song is become really cute with the two of the singer there.
3) Ranka no Kutsushita no Uta (Megumi Nakajima) --- this is Christmas song from Ranka Lee, and Megumi Nakajima sing it beautifully with Takarazuka School's kids singer.

5) Iteza Gogo Kuji Don't be Late (May'n) --- Another blast! As usual, this song is really amazing and really fit Sheryl Nome and May'n image. All of the band member, the audience, and May'n blending together with this song.
6) Silent de Nanka Irarenai (May'n and Megumi Nakajima) --- My favorite song on Macross Frontier Christmas album Cosmic Cuune. A very cute playful energetic song about Christmas. And this is my favorite performance in this concert.
7) Aenai Toki (May'n) --- a heart-breaking song but I really love it. May'n look very pretty here. This song is romantic yet really sad.
9) CM Ranka Medley (Megumi Nakajima) --- Consist of Starlight Nattou, Ninjin Loves You Yeah, Dainamu Chougokin, Daruma Seminar, Chou Jikuu Hanten Nyan Nyan,Family Mart Cosmos. The arrangement for concert ir so much fun! The viola for Ninjin Loves You yeah, and customize the lyric a bit about be in Christmas alone, but still fun. Dainamu Chougokin, I can see the Ranka on her, she is too careless xDD Daruma Seminar, She seems so geek with the glasses. Chou Jikuu Hanten Nyan Nyan, there is a Chinese man come! Ahahahaha xDD Family Mart Cosmos with White happi.
10) Koi wa Dogfight (Megumi Nakajima) --- Somehow this song make her look like a vocaloid. Oh yes I forgot, Megumi Nakajima is a part of singer who lend her voice for vocaloid xD
11) Niji Iro Kuma Kuma (Megumi Nakajima) --- It is only me or when it sung lived, it is not that cute but become so soft and energetic. I better see the movie version when it can sung and watch it cute.

14) Houkago Overflow (Megumi Nakajima) --- Yes, I love this song but I don't know why she have to sing it that energetic. I love how it feels so sad on the movie, but see it live make it lose the mean of the song.
15) Sou da yo (Megumi Nakajima) --- Another love yet sad love song from Ranka Lee.
17) Infinity (May'n) --- The medley of Sheryl was chosen right.This song sung after Obelisk so I still can feel the sadness but strong feeling from Sheryl.
18) Tenshi ni Nachatta (May'n) --- Opened with Harp's melodic, and then she sing with piano from Kanno Yoko. Totally romantic yet sad. I love her voice on the verse of "Anata dake ni..."

20) Eien (May'n) --- May'n change her clothes. The black coat look so good. The penlight change into red. Make it really dramatic.
21) Lion (May'n and Megumi Nakajima) --- I think this song is the climax of the concert. My favorite song ever. May'n put out the black coat and join Megumi Nakajima and sing together. The orchestra member are all standing!! and somehow I feel the aura of "a love fight" between Sheryl and Ranka. And I love how Megumi Nakajima look so intense to May'n while May'n do her part.
22) Merry Christmas Without you (May'n and Megumi Nakajima) --- the second time they are singing this song on this concert. This time is just a bit part of saying Merry Christmas with the three seiyuu: Yuichi Nakamura, Aya Endo, and Megumi Toyoguchi behind them. Because this is a "Christmas" live so this is the greeting from them. And they change the last lyric to "Merry Christmas with you".
Concert end with the phrase of Diamond Crevasse, which "it is a long long goodbye", two times. And the siluet of Megumi Nakajima and May'n portrait Ranka Lee and Sheryl Nome.
1) Macross Frontier Theme (Kanno Yoko) --- actually I forgot the name, will check it first ^^. The opening of the encore is really cute, with Kanno Yoko playing with the VTR and then she opened it with leading the orchestra.
2) Giragira Summer (May'n) --- The first time I see it! It was so fun! May'n and Kanno Yoko kick and throw a big balloon ball to the audience, and May'n so busy doing fun dancing while singing xDD She is really cute with that white jumper and fur.
3) Seikan Hikou (Megumi Nakajima) --- My favorite song of Ranka Lee. But on this concert, nothing new on the performance. They are doing the usual "Kira!" with the audience, but this time Megumi Nakajima invite May'n and the other three seiyuu to join her doing "Kira!" one by one. I was amazed at how cute Aya Endou doing kira xDDD And then the five of them are dancing and singing together.

In this MC time, Megumi Nakajima and May'n introduce the three seiyuu, the band members, and the orchestra member. I see the band members is still the same with the first Budoukan concert. And the last, is the composer of all the music, Kanno Yoko-san.
4) Merry Christmas without you (May'n and Megumi Nakajima) --- the third time they are singing this song on this concert and be the last song of this concert. Start will louding "Merry Christmas" together. They are singing along with the three seiyuu. OMG Nakamura Yuichi voice is really cool xDD
And the concert ended with piano of "What about My Star" from Kanno Yoko-san.

Thank you for a nice review of the Cosmic Nyaan disk! I enjoyed reading it. You seem to have a sensitive ear and feeling. For example, you notice how big a contrast May'n is making between the White and Black Bunnies. You say you had goosebumps watching her performance. You are deeply affected by May'n's "expressions". Normally, people just say May'n is cute or sexy or she has a powerful voice or things like that. While all these are correct, May'n is a lot deeper than that. You seem to feel her depth. I'm glad to find a person who appreciates that aspect of May'n's performance.
